How to setnd SMS / phone call alert from Nagios Server?
Hi,
I have running Nagios server on CentOS 5 and getting email alerts , can anyone please let me know if it is possible to get SMS / Phone alert from Nagios system for host / service alerts or do we have to purchase it from any third party vendor?
Most phones capable of text messaging will allow you to send an email to the address of the phone. In Nagios you just setup a notify type to do such emails and create contacts in contacts.cfg that have the appropriate email addresses. Typically the email address is <phonenumer>@<domain> where phonenumber is the number of the cell phone and domain is the one your carrier uses for its cellphones.
