How to set screen resolution in kde 2.x?

I am running the openSUSE 11.1 KDE "revisited" live CD in VirtualBox. It is running KDE 2.2 (I think) and I'd like to change the resolution.

By default, it is giving me 800x600.

I'd like to change to something more reasonable like 1024x768 or even 1280x960. (My current host desktop is 1680x1050.)

I tried to run sax2 or configure desktop or yast, but didn't find them. (I'm using Ubuntu now but have five years of SUSE/openSUSE experience.)

Any ideas? Google isn't helping at all.

Well this is none of KDE's business, just edit the xorg.conf file directly. Note that as you have a VM there, your video choices may be very limited, and you're possibly only running on a vesa driver there, which can only do 800x600 and 640x480 by design.
