How to set download destination folders for bluetooth and normal downloads

I am using peppermint linux OS and am having difficulty locating where my bluetooth is downloading items. Bluetooth appears to be Blueman based.

I have tried searching using the file manager search facility but no luck.

I would also like to be able to pre-determine a location where my bluetooth and normal downloads go.

bluetooth itself does not set it. You use a tool which will make the file transfer and you can specify the location inside that tool. But without details hard to say more.

I found the file under /.cache/obexd. Seems a strange place. I could not get Nautilus to find the file in search - I had to look for it manually. I am going to try and change the location for bluetoothed files via the local services section of blueman, bluez? It seems to be set at downloads which it certainly isn't using to lodge files.

No. I mean .cache/obexd is used internally (and only temporarily) by bluetooth (especially by obexd). You will not be able to modify it.

OBEX is communication protocol to facilitate the exchange of the binary object between the devices.
Anyway if you use any tool to download something it should put the file[s] somewhere, not in that .cache.
Again, if you don't tell us anything about what (and how) did you try exactly we will not be able to help you.
