How to scan ISO with Checksum

Hi:

I tried the first step to these instructions 3 times.
https://fedoraproject.org/en/verify
https://fedoraproject.org/static/che...Spins-CHECKSUM

When I try to download the x86_64 (XFCE)Live Media Fedora 17 file it shows me a page of code and doesn't start to download anything.

Code:

Perhaps I have overlooked something.

Is there another way to verify the ISO for security and integrity or is this the only way?

Are you trying to download the ISO or verify the ISO you already downloaded? The page you linked to is the verification page, those links just go to the checksum for the ISOs, not the ISOs themselves. Right click > Save the checksum for the ISO you downloaded, put it in the same directory as the ISO you downloaded, and continue with the rest of the steps to complete the verification.

I'm trying to verify the ISO file that I already have in my dowloads directory.

I don't have a checksum file for the ISO I downloaded.
The only file I have in my downloads directory is :
'Fedora-17-x86_64-Live-XFCE.iso'

Should I do a fresh download of Fedora again?

Code:
:~$ curl https://fedoraproject.org/static/fedora.gpg | gpg --import
bash: curl: command not found
gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.
gpg: Total number processed: 0
ztcoracat:~$
ztcoracat:~$ gpg --verify-files *-CHECKSUM
gpg: can't open `*-CHECKSUM'
I put the checksum in the same directory as the ISO file and tried to run the rest of the instructions.

The first command is returning an error that you don't have curl installed.
Install curl.
The gpg verify sig command change *-CHECHSUMS to whatever you named the file.

I am going to have to re-download Fedora because I don't have the file that came along with the ISO file.As soon as I closed the downloads directory the file that came with the ISO disapeared and that's the file suicidaleggroll told me to right click on.
Than I can proceed.

Also I found a helpful tutorial that can aid others too-
