How to restore previous sessions on Firefox

Hi all,

Ubuntu 16.04
Gnome desktop

Recently Firefox doesn't work properly at start. After booting up the PC I have to click its icon "Firefox Web Browser" twice to start it.

The tab "restore previous sessions" is at the bottom. I have to click it to restore previous session.

I just start the PC. It also needs clicking the above icon twice to start Firefox. But it is a new "Firebox Web Browser" session without the tab "restore previous sessions" at bottom

I found;
firefox does not restore previous sessions anymore
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1084632

But it doesn't help me out. Please help "How to restore previous sessions". Thanks

Regards
satimis

Hi,

You did look under the 'History' menu option for session options? I like to use the 'Session Manager' add on to save my session so I can at least recover from a fault.

Hope this helps.
Have fun & enjoy!

Hi,

Thanks for your advice.

I have session-manager installed on Firebox. Previously I have 3 Firefox web browser windows running with several tabs running on each window without saving.

Start Firefox Web Browser. The [Restore Previous Sessions] tab is NOT found on the bottom

Then
Tools -> Session Manager -> Restore Session

The tab [Restore] on the browser doesn't respond on clicking it

Regards

Hi,

If you have 'Session Manager' then you can use Tools>Session Manager and you will see a list of time stamped sessions to choose from. I regularly save my session and mark with a specific ID with a time stamp included for future references.

You can setup session manager using addons to get to preferences then setup the save sessions to suit your needs.

Hope this helps.
Have fun & enjoy!

Hi,

Thanks for your advice.

I don't think I can restore those sessions before having problem starting Firebox, about 3 days ago. I have those running URLs saved on a .txt file. The last entry was on 09/04/2016, only losing URLs betwen 10~21 before problem, not many. I cease trying to restore them.

One thing I can't resolve. Before problem when I start Firebox the first time after booting up the PC. A "Restore Previous Sessions" tab will appear at the bottom of the browser. Now it doesn't appear there any more
