Question How to restore Linux Boot Menu ?

I have Suse 8.1 and WinXP installed on the same computer. As my WinXP crashed (quite normal) I have reinstalled it and it has erased my dual boot menu.

How can I restore it to access to my important files ? I know that Mandrake restore it with the installation CD, is there something like this that come with Suse ?

If you don't know how to restore Lilo, maybe you know how to backup the files on the ext3 partition ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can boot your system from your cd:
However, since the Linux boot loader cannot be accessed yet, proceed as follows to boot the system:

Boot from your CD or DVD as for an install.
Select "Installation" (already preset).
Select your language.
In the next menu, select "Boot installed system".
The root partition is detected automatically and the system will be booted from it.

To restore lilo, run "lilo" in a command prompt. I think suse installs GRUB instead of lilo by default, though.
