not available?? what does that mean? If the password is unknown then you need to reset it with either the appropriate value in /etc/shadow (not passwd on most systems) if you are using standard system accounts. If you are using seperate user account lists, then you need to check there, but as you've said nothing useful about your system at all, it's hard to be more specific.
