How to remove my idle usernames from an IRC channel

Hello,

Using irssi on a Linux box I have connected multiple times to a server and to a irc channel. As a consequence I have created multiple variations of my nickname. For example, nickname1, nickname2, nickname_, nickname3

How can I remove those nicknames which were created by my connections? I tried /kick nickname3 and it said I have to be half-operator but the nicknames were created thru my connections. I was expecting to be able to kick my own nicknames.

Any inputs?

Thanks in advanced.

You'll need someone with operator status on the server to kick them for you. Just because the connection is coming from your IP address doesn't mean it's coming from you.... although if you've multiple clients running on your host you may be able to kill the local process, a lot depends on how the IRC server maintains / checks the client connection. You may find that in time the "ghosts" will "ping out"
