Question How to rehash menus of other WMs?

I am faced with a simple but annoying situation.

I use both GNOME and KDE regularly. I see kde menus in gnome and vice versa. I regularly use kde programs in gnome and vice versa.
Over a gradual period of time, I have installed many apps in kde. This has resulted in kde menu growing. However, the new additions to the kde menu are not visible in gnome menu's kde section. Is there a way I can rehash GNOME menu sections as to reflect new additions?
