how to recover deleted files in linux mint
I was copying some files, and after finished copying all the files were still selected and pressed delete and accidentally deleted some files. So I used photorec to recover some files, and indeed worked for some files, but the files I recently deleted were not recovered. Does anyone has a better suggestions. The files were deleted from an ntfs partition, but the partition is managed as an extended partition by linux OS.

Look in your trash can with the NTFS filesystem mounted. If they aren't there, they're gone for good.

Look in your trash, providing you didn't empty your trash.
Photorec is about he best, if that doesn't get them back, I would have no further recommendations. But based on what you said, you did UI delete, so check your trash. However I do realize that the UI in MINT does just delete without going to trash. So Photorec.

hey man, thanks a lot, I looked into the trash can of my desktop, but not inside the trash can of the partition, which has its own trash can but it is usually a hidden directory, so I went there and "voila" there they were. But go figure, I ran photorec, and photorec didn't recovered them.. may be because the files were sitting there in hard drive all the time, and they were not overwritten by others file.. don't know

My trash via Thunar has a restore option on the right click menu.
Your file manager may have something similar as well.

Right. I think Photorec doesn't mind itself about files that aren't yet deleted.
