how to receive email

I can use 'mail' to send out the email to a general email account. But what's my email address that other people can use to email me? Is it something like 'myaccount@mydomain'? It seems won't work. How to set up to receive email?

Thanks.

Is this some e-mail account set up by someone like MSN? Or is this an e-mail account set up by your ISP? Or is it an e-mail account set up on a e-mail server you configured?

Would you also let us know what e-mail program you are using?

If you want to set up your machine to receive mail, you need to set up an MTA (mail transport agent). You should check out Postfix for a good MTA.

Thank you for your reply.

Below is the fact:

1. I have my company's email account: myname@companyname.com
2. I have a develop box (it should be in different server to 1's server)
3. I can send the email from develop box (using 'mail') to myname@companyname.com, but I cannot reply this mail from myname@companyname.com.
The error I got in 3 is "5.1.2 - Bad destination host".
