Red face How to move files automatically to NFS?

Hi All,

My question is that there have 1 Linux NFS server and some Linux servers in the LAN.

How can I configure say at 10:00PM daily which will automatically move a (some) files from servers to NFS server? I donot want to use CRON job to do this. Is it need to configure something at both sides?

CHEERS

well if it is an NFS server then naturally you are mounting the servers shares on the local machine, so it should all be treated as local to the client computer.

Why do you not want a cron job? cron is by far the best option, as well as the easiest.

Hi Chris

The case likes:

I did not understand that some files are moving to the NFS server at time say 9:00pm daily from others applicaions servers within the LAN. I have checked the application server which have not mounted NFS or run cron job etc.

So, is it some execute under the backgroup like a scripts?

Thanks for your help
