how to mount an iso image as CD?


i tried mount -t iso9660 -o loop /*/*.iso /mnt/iso

yes, it can be sucessfully mounted...but the iso is mount as a folder.

how can i mount the iso as cd? (like daemon-tools in windows?)

b/c the program in the iso i want to use check for the CD..so i must mount it as CD....

(it is a windows program, i want to run it under wine...)


hope you know why i mean.....sorry for my bad english....

I haven't actually treid this but it might work. In your WINE config file, does it point to the CDROM device or where it's mounted? If it points to the device (as in /dev/something) then just point that path to the ISO.

I think that these programs are known not to work in wine.

That is what mounting means. There is no way to "mount something as a cd".
If you insert a cd in your drive, that is the way it will be mounted also.

i change the wine config file the point to the CDRom to /mnt/iso

and mount the iso to /mnt/iso.......

the program still ask me to insert disk......

how can i actually do that? (i am dumb)

then actually can i achieve my "goal" by not actually burin the iso file on cd?

You are not doing what was suggested by cs-cam
He suggested that wine may want raw access to the cd using the device file instead of the mountpoint.
I don't know if this can be done.

Try pointing wine to the cd image, rather than the mounted iso.

for example i changed the wine config file like this....

how can i access the virtual CD rom in wine?
