How to make something run on Gnome startup?


For example i want Gaim to run on when Gnome start.

When i want is the function of the Windows "Startup folder" in the start menu.

Thanks, but i have another question, if i want to lauch a particular program with ROOT privilege, what do i need to type at the Sessions Manager box command prompt?
