How to make hotkeys/shortcuts in console?

To open programs?

My wm (fluxbox) does that for me, so for example i press alt-a and it opens aterm or alt-f for firefox

Yes, to launch apps.
In X I use xbindkeys, but don't know how to do hotkeys under console.

Thanks, ethics, it's what I need.
But Control-V doesn't tell me character combination of multimedia keys.
Is there any way to use multimedia keys in console?
