How to make a bootable .iso CD
http://hddguru.com/content/en/software/2005.10.02-MHDD/
MHDD is the most popular freeware program for low-level HDD diagnostics. MHDD supports these interfaces: IDE, Serial ATA, SCSI. Also there is a possibility to access an USB storage, there are drivers for emulation (USB->SCSI). ----------------------------------------------------------- The name of the file is ' mhdd32ver4.5iso.zip '. I must make a bootable CD using the above zip file. If it is an ordinary .iso file I can burn using the K3b program to make a bootable CD. How do I make a bootable CD using the above file? |
In the file filename there is a part: *iso.zip I think the iso file is in the zip. Extract it, and use k3b, here select the burn disc from image file or something like that. That should do the job. I assume that the developer of hddguru made a bootable iso.

I would think if you unzip the file it should turn into an iso file ready to be burn by k3b.

Thanks pusrob.
You are correct. It worked the way you thought. linux-3vxw:/home/Niss/Mhdd # unzip 'mhdd32ver4.6iso.zip' Archive: mhdd32ver4.6iso.zip inflating: mhdd32ver4.6.iso linux-3vxw:/home/Niss/Mhdd # |
How to make a bootableCD and auto start my application.
hi all........
I want to create a bootable CD for my application. That means machine boot from CD and auto start my application. For this reason i have taken some steps, I have created isolinux folder. The folder contents following things. i)initrd.img ii)isolinux.bin iii)isolinux.cfg iv)linux (Kernel) v)boot.cat and I have created a iso file -- mkisofs -o /tmp/DDLJ.iso -b isolinux.bin -c boot.cat -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table /root/isolinux and burn the DDLJ.iso to cd. it is bootable. But the main problem is how can i add my application with this .iso file to start automatically with the reboot. I have create a executable file of my project, I want to add my executable file with this iso, so that machine boot from cd and auto start my application. thanks, nasim |
