how to install the linux by local hard

I have a sony notebook, and he has a base. when I use the cd-rom to install, the system tell me can not find cd-rom. So I want to install it by local hard.

Then, I copy all files(RedHat Linux 7.3 CD1) to my partition. And I use the Windows98 start disk to start, I use autoboot this command. then go to the next step, I choose the local hard.

Here, the sytem let me input images directory. I don't know how to?

Well, I don't know if that will work. RedHat will actually make startup diskettes for you to download. It will be a file called something.img and you will need to use a program called rawrite.exe (in winbloze) to make the image on a floppy. Don't just copy the file over.

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/l...EPS-MAKE-DISKS

That is for RH 7.2, but still applies here.
