How to install the latest Mandriva just to upgrade the existing version.
Hi
I am running Mandriva and it works fine.
Now they have released a new version of Mandriva.
I have downloaded it.
However, I am afraid to install it for the fear of losing all the necessary data.
It may erase everything by the installation of the latest version.
I am keen to install it if you tell me how to do the job properly.
Of course, I will back-up necessary data to CDs.
When the computer starts, I could select Ubuntu, Mandriva or open SuSE 10.3.
All 3 operating systems work fine.
GRUB helps to make the selection.
I want to install Mandriva or rather upgrade the existing version.
Your thoughts are welcome.
Furthermore, I don't want to change the GRUB;because it works smoothly. The installation shouldn't touch the GRUB settings.
PS
I have even Windows Vista. It is dead. I am not a Windows fan. I just installed a crack version of Windows Vista. It worked fine in the past. Now I get a message saying 'This is not a genuine product'.
I don't care about Windows Vista. I work with Linux for more than 10 years.
