Hello,

I wouldn't even try to run those on Wine! You'd be in for quite the disappointment I think. Even on the Wine site they don't give high ratings for any of the Autocad versions. The latest seem better but I'm pretty sure you'll find it lacking functionality, being erroneous and lot more of the bad issues. Do you have a particular reason not to run an open source alternative like Linux Cad, ACAD, QCad, ...?

Kind regards,

Eric

Hello,

As with all changes, there will be some adapting you'll have to do. The interfaces of course will be different, they're not 'clones' but alternatives. If you want a reliable system then my advice is to use Linux software. I've only used ACAD on a couple of occasions to make changes to AutoCAD files and found it very easy to adapt. The best thing to do is install some of them and play around with them to see with which one you feel comfortable. There will always be a learning curve but if you're used to AutoCAD I think you'll adapt real soon.

Kind regards,

Eric

When you know Autocad, it's no problem using e.g. Qcad.

The most advanced for Linux is Briscad, I think .. ( $ 395 )
