how to expand my /tmp...partition

fresh install of redhat 9.0 0n 40Gig drive I manually partitioned the drive but later after trying to download an ISO image it keep saying out of disk space? Uh!!! well after a second try I noticed the download writes to the /tmp/ partition FIRST
I only allocated 500 Meg to the /tmp any suggestions on how to expand this 500 Meg partition to around a 1Gig

thanks for looking and thanks for your suggestions

well you'd need a bigger partition... parted shoiuld allow you to increase it, or maybe you've actualy got lots of unused free space on / itself, inwhich case i'd just ditch the /tmp partition alotgether.

But also if this is just to download an iso, just wget it on console or something (or probably you can change the temp directory for your browser)
