How to e-mail from a terminal

Hi there I have to do a research paper on how to email from the command line. I have no clue where to start. What are the commands/program I need to be able to do this. I only need to be able to do it on a network not on the internet btw.

I'm not sure, I understand. do you want to know a program which allows you to send emails, but can be used from the command line?

If so, Pine is supposedly very good. It is just a text based program like Outlook or pegasus. I check my emails from commandline using Links.

Maybe this will help you get start....

send mail? Its sendmail without a space. If your using Fedora, make sure its actually installed first.

rpm -qa | grep sendmail
