How to disable screensaver and monitor suspend

Hi, I'm trying to make the monitor display the current X Windows even if the machine was idling forever. How do I disable screensaver and monitor suspend? Currently if I left my computer for a few minutes, the screensaver started showing up. And a little longer than that, the monitor was suspended and displayed a blank screen until I moved my mouse / pressed a keyboard button.

BTW, my distro is SuSE 10.0 with KDE.

Thanks in advance.

You can use:
Code:
xset s off
to turn off these options.

I think you also have to use 'xset -dpms' to turn off the monitor suspension.

You can make this permanent by editing your xorg.conf to remove the dpms line from the monitor section.

The screen saver worked but the monitor suspension didn't. The monitor still showed a blank screen when I leave it for a while. And there's no line with "DPMS" in the xorg.conf at all.

You have to use xset to disable dpms:
Code:
xset -dpms
You can also run:
Code:
xset q
to see your settings.
