How to determine device names

Iam newbie & i want to help me how can you determine device names for each hardware.

The different devices have different names.
I.e. the network adapters have names such as "eth???" where ??? is a digit.

However a simple google search brought me this list:

Also you can try different things like:
lspci (LSPCI lowercase)
And other things like that.
