how to create a RPM

I have written a little C application and now I need to create a RPM so I can install it easily on many servers. I have read many sites that explain what to do but I cant get it -- problem is that almost all those sites show examples with a tar.gz file with a configure file (which I do not have it) so what I need is someone to point me to the right direction

The RPM has to install the binary on /etc/rc3.d -- thats it

any help would be really appreciated
