How to copy Linux on CD?

I use currently Red Hat 7.1. Today I download (from http://www.linuxiso.org, with DSL) the Red Hat 7.3 beta and want to install on my machine. However, the file that I downloaded is in ISO format. For me it’s not clear whether I download the correct file or not. Because I check that on my old Red Hat 7.1 CD it has directory but the new version contains just ISO file. Now I want to copy the file from my hardrive to cd and install Red Hat 7.3. Also, What is i586 and i386?

iso-image: CD filesystem see: http://www.linuxiso.org/viewdoc.php/isofaq.html and http://www.linuxiso.org/viewdoc.php/howtoburn.html (gosh, linked to from every page on the site you downloaded the iso from)

i386 - Binary compiled for 386 and compatable chipsets (486, Pentium, PII, PIII, PIV, Athlon, Celeron, Duron, etc)

i568 - Binary compiled for Pentium and compatable chipsets (not 486 and lower)

use cdrecord to burn it on the cd.

it's somehow need a lecture to tell you how to burn the cds under linux--because you need to know if you are using a scsi cd-burner or ide,if ide then you must use an emulation "ide-scsi" ...etc
but if you are realy serious and want to know how to burn under linux, then read the howto of the cd-writing.
www.linuxdoc.org .

it's not too complicated.
good luck

You need to burn the iso file to the CD as an "image"; you can't just copy it.
Check the links dorward posted for more info.

What burning software do you use? If you use nero, click "File" then "Burn Image". Select the ISO and burn. That's it.
