How to connect to SSH session?

Lets say I have a big data analysis job to run. So I SSH into the remote Linux box and start the analysis which will take several hours. I close the SSH window and return the next day. When I SSH in, it starts a new session for me, but I can see that the data analysis is still running in the processes. How do I connect to that process and view the results of the data analysis?

you can't do this, but you can use the "screen" tool to start a detachable shell which you can reattach to from anywhere, locally or via ssh or any other way once you are logged in.

When you log out, all processes are usually killed.

A nice program to prevent this is the screen untility. Just search for a screen tutorial on the web or read the man page.
