resolv.conf

DNS for linux in general is defined in /etc/resolv.conf
So suppose you wanted to specify 111.222.333.444 as a nameserver, you would add this line to resolv.conf:

nameserver 111.222.333.444

also you can add more than one:

nameserver 111.222.333.444
nameserver 222.333.44.1
nameserver 111.222.333.777

SuSE has a nice tool called YaST which provides easy configuration. it should be available from the menu in your system, or open a terminal and type "yast" (no quotes).

i'd like to edit this in terminal or console mode i have no idea y if i type this /etc/resolv.conf prompt appear access denied even if i log into root account is suse10 no need to use console or just direct it in GUI using YAST tools pls help.

sample error login under terminal program, super user mode
linux:~# /etc/resolv.conf
-bash:/etc/resolv.conf: permission denied
linu:~#
