How to check which RPM will resolve the modules like "so"

Hi,

Usually I use to face problem while installing any rpm package in which it says that libnsl.so.1 is missing like messages.

I would like to know is there any site from which we can come to know which RPM package will fix this ?

Please suggest.

Thanks
Rajan

Unless your system is too old for it or not connected to a network why not let Yum resolve dependencies?
* /lib/libnsl.so.1 is part of the glibc package BTW.

Hi,

I am facing this issue while installing any package which is not part of Red Hat Repository.

I use to download it from rpm.pbone.net.

Thanks
Rajan

I doubt that is a practice that Red Hat supports. Check your support contract (if any) for any consequences before you continue. And if you decide to fsck up your RHEL install good then in terms of quality assurance at least use a repo like the CentOS, RPMForge or EPEL ones.
