Thanks a lot for your help.

I have 1GB disk space which had not been formatted. I cannot read it under redhat, but I can read it under window2k server which installed partition magic 7.

How can I format that space and allocate to /usr as I want to install oracle9i db.

This is what I done

used fdisk to make the patition
then formated the partition (Sorry I forgot the command if any one know please tell me thanks)
then Mount /usr to the new partition and test in.
If its ok then make the new changes in /etc/fstab.

but double check every thing
