How to change default font setting?

When I view man pages, single quote mark - ' - appear as the letter a with a ^ over top.

I'm not in X windows. I'm usually using either putty or openssh to access this box. It is running Fedora Core 1. Changing the font settings in putty and openssh don't help.

I'm assuming this problems can be changed by changing the default system font. Where is this setting at? Will I be breaking anything by changing?

I don't think that's a font-problem.

You probably just forgot to install the text-utils...

the (X)roff family is required for processing the
man-pages... :)

[root@dublin brad]# rpm -q groff

[root@dublin brad]# rpm -q groff-gxditview

[root@dublin brad]# rpm -q groff-perl

Unless I'm missing something, it's all there.

This is from my man sed page. Just put it here to show what I'm talking about.

But it is sedÔs ability to filter text in a pipeline which particularly distinguishes it from other types of editors.
