Hi, I guess it is a good place to post a question like this one. My "problem" is a bootscreen in mandrake 10.0 official linux distribution, it's blue (hmm, main color in all mandrakes), i like the color but it is too bright. I have all desktop in black, and only light thing is screen on booting and shutting down. Does anyone know where I can find alternative pictures fot starting and shutting down my linux and how to change it? or just how to disable that option and make linux showing just black background with white font on this? thanks for any help you can give me.

Try removing the "vga=7xx" part of the append= line of your /etc/lilo.conf file (don't forget to run lilo right after you edit the file). That'll kill your framebuffer and you'll get plain text on a black console.
