how to Add GUI feature to Target board

Hi,

This is Sateesh. I am Omap innovator kit. linux is running on it. Now i want to add gui to it. Till now it does not have any X window system. As i am working on Embedded system, i want to add Embedded GUI to it and want to run GUI applications.

Do any one has any idea how to do this.

Please give detailed steps i.e. what source to download, how to compile and install.

I usually cross compile my applications, on X86 pc using ELDK tool chain and run them on target board.

Since X window System is also an application, do i need to cross compile it for ARM, i.e. target board.? then how to proceed?

To add GUI feature to target board, what should i do?
