How much memory is installed?

Hi,

This has been driving me crazy. How can I find out how much memory is installed on a linux box OTHER than stopping it, opening it up and looking at the RAM? I have looked for some kind of "About this computer" kind of setting (in Gnome) but there doesn't seem to be anything like this. I have also searched the net to no avail.

Is there a simple GUI control panel with this info? Alternately is there a command I can use in the terminal to find out how much RAM there is?

Thanks,

Craig
