how much harddrive space should i partition?

im going to be installing gentoo linux soon on my PowerBook G4. and i of coarse want to keep OS X. so i need to partition my harddrive. i have 74.4gb one, and i was wondering how much i should i split for gentoo. id like to put some music and video and picture files w/ the gentoo section. and also linux apps. i was thinking splitin it into 60gb/14.4gb. the 14 would be for gentoo. thanx.

Video and music files will rapidly fill your drive. Depending on what you do with each OS, I split my laptop's 60GB drive 50/50, before I wiped out Windows and gave it all to SuSE.

If it is possible to mount MAC file systems in Linux (I wouldn't know) then you could save your music/videos wherever you have the available space. In which case 14Gb might work fine.
