How log log serial traffic when not logged in

I have a Raspberry Pi (Raspian) that has a serial connection via a tty to a microcontroller, and I want to log the output from the micro. When I'm logged in, I use minicom, and I can have minicom log my live sessions. However, even when not in a live session, the microcontroller is sending stuff, and I'd like to log it, even when I'm not logged in to the Pi.

I have no idea how to accomplish this. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thank you.

Take a look at Grabserial. It probably does exactly what you want.
