How exactly does nmblookup work?
Hello there,
From memory, NetBIOS is non-routable
and querying names (or IPs) works by broadcasting messages in the hope that the correct remote machine will identify itself.
Still, is there a way to query for a name or IP outside of my network segment?
Can a domain controller, for instance,
be queried instead of sending a broadcast message to my network segment?
Are all domain controllers WINS servers by default
or do you have to enable WINS?
