How do you configure aureal and hollywood plus in modules.conf?
I have an aureal au8810 card and a hollywood plus card. Before I installed the aural linux drivers, hollywood plus works fine outputting analog or digital to my speakers. When I installed the aureal linux drivers the em8300 stopped working but my other multimedia applications like KsCD worked fine. I can configure modules.conf so either one could be working but not both. How do you write the modules.conf file so both will work? Here is my config file for Hollywood Plus working.
probeall scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi
probeall usb-interface usb-uhci
alias eth0 natsemi
alias char-major-121 em8300
pre-install em8300 modprobe adv717x
options adv717x pixelport_16bit=0
options em8300 dicom_fix=1 dicom_control=1
alias /dev/nvidia* NVdriver
Here is my config file for aureal only working :
probeall scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi
probeall usb-interface usb-uhci
alias eth0 natsemi
alias char-major-121 em8300
pre-install em8300 modprobe adv717x
options adv717x pixelport_16bit=0
options em8300 dicom_fix=1 dicom_control=1
alias /dev/nvidia* NVdriver
alias char-major-14 sound
alias sound-slot-0 sound
alias sound au8810
alias midi au8810
The last four lines were written by the aureal make install. In the second configuration, the KDE sound server needed to be Threaded Open Sound System to get sound. xine -V Xv -A oss (with dhc set to analog output which is connected to the line in on the aural card) works for a little while and then the sound cuts out. xine -V Xv -A arts works fine though.
I resorted to this configuration before of severe audio video sync issues with xine dxr3 anytime you fast forward or rewind. I found out that if I use xine -V Xv and -A oss (utilizing the nvidia card tv out for video and the h plus card for audio) I have perfect sync.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
