How do I upgrade MySQL...

I have MySQL, Apache, and lots of things bundled to my RedHat 8.0 box.

What should I do if I want to upgrade them to a newer version?

The reason I ask this question is because the new versions are always meant to be installed into an independent directory, like "/usr/local", so that they don't seem to be related to the builds that are alreading running on my machine.

Please help!
