How do I uninstall or Format.
How do I do that in fedora core 4? I need to get ride of it on my laptop so I can install windows first for a duel boot. And Fedora won't let my xp disks be booted from, it says set up is inisalizing hardware and goes black, so is there anyway to format my laptop easily? I don't have a floppy, or is there a way to just formal it physicly? Someone said some hdd's have litle pin buttons to do that, I don't know if they knew what they were talking about or not. Thanks, laters.

For starters, Fedora isn't stopping your XP disc from booting properly, it can't do that. If you boot from the Windows CD then Fedora isn't getting started, it knows nothing about whats going on.
Moving on though, you could boot from your Fedora CD and use the recovery console to format the drive. I've never used that so I can only guess but to do what you want, you'd want to run fdisk and delete the partitions. You know that this will lose all your data if you haven't backed it up onto CD or DVD or whatever?
Then install Windows and Fedora again. Have fun

Boot the first Fedora Core 4 CD (or DVD) and at the boot menu type in:
linux rescue [return]
(don't type in the "[return]" part, it's just there to say your supposed to hit the return/enter key)
this will boot you to a recovery console, when there, follow cs-cam's instructions

If I do this, will grub be gone as well ( I am not reinstalling Fedora ), and will this allow me to boot straight to Windows
I have Windows on a master HD, and Fedora on a slave, they are seperate HD's and the Fedora Core HD is particiallt Partitioned so I could use the other half of the HD for Windows. Thanks for any help
I might be way off subject

Basically an uninstall is to format the partitions the old OS was on and install whatever you want over it.
To replace the windows bootloader, follow this link for a thread:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ows+bootloader
If you want to re-install windows on the disk, you should just be able to stick in your XP cd in the drive and let it go, if that doesn't work, then it's not a linux problem, it's a hardware or maybe an issue with your windows cd.
If you have any more questions, ask.
