how do I stop kde from the shell?

I know you can use init or telinit or click logout but isn't there a specific kde command like startx that closes x? Like stopx or kdeshutdown- something like that?

Thanks everyone

If you're using a GUI session manager, it should bring you back to that. If you're not using a session manager, it should shut down X completely and return you to a terminal.
This isn't exactly what you were asking, but I don't know much about KDE.

If you're wanting to exit kde and start a window manager, I *think* the command "switchdesk (window manager)" would do it. As to getting a console login, I'm not sure.
