How do I get .stm files working with apache

Hi All
I have a load of .stm files that I need to make a site with but when I display for example index.stm in my browser it just shows me the contents of index.stm.
I've done a google search, a search here & had a look in /etc/httpd/conf/commonhttpd.conf but I cant find anything to do with getting .stm files to work.
The string stm isnt even in my commonhttpd.conf so I'm lost as to how I'm supposed to get this working.
Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance for any replies
