How do I fix the Grub Error 18!?!?!

Hi!
Hi, I am completely stumped by this problem I am having with my computer. I have Suse 10 and I successfully installed it on my computer. My computer consists of an AMD Athlon 1.4 Ghz processor, 200 GB hard drive, 192 Mb RAM, Network Card, Dual Layer DVD Burner, and a modem. The problem is whenever I shut down or restart my computer, I get the message Loading GRUB Error 18. I did some research on the internet and found out that the error means I have too big of a hard drive. I tried installing LILO but there was an installation problem. Are there any hints or any websites which explains how to fix this problem?
If you need more details on what I have let me know! THANKS!

More details:
Did it ever work? ie were you at one time able to boot into SUSE?
During install, where did you put grub? (the choices would be mbr of first drive or a floppy)

If you have never successfully booted, then consider re-installing--be sure to give Linux only 10-15GB. Leave the rest of the disk empty (unpartitioned) and set up a data partition once you have the basic install working.

If you CAN get into the system, post the output of fdisk -l (ell) and also the contents of grub.conf (often AKA "menu.lst") This file should be in /boot/grub

No it never worked booting by itself. It would only boot with the CD. I put the file in MBR. Thanks!
