How do I connect a linux internet server (apache/email) to windows 2000 domain?

Hello all,

Please bare with me, a nOOb here.

I would like achieve the following (if possible):

replace the email(exchange 2000) and web server(IIS6) standalone server box, with a standalone box running a LAMP solution but keep the domain controller and DNS as Windows 2000.

I have tried to "google" this information, but have not had much luck. I would very much appreciate any guidance anyone can give me, with the URL of a website or if someone has already achieved this or something similar.

Thanks

well apache is as simple to setup as one command.

/etc/init.d/httpd start

if all you want is a basic web server, it does get more complicated though, check out my website listed below it you want more information on apache.

as for your mail server this might be use ful to you.

it's is my replacement for M$ exchange server. Dovecot runs
as either pop3 or imap, the Perl script draws down the aliases from the Active
Directory CN, postfix runs as the SMTP server, sSquirrel Mail runs as my mail
client and the Squirrel Mail plug-in draws the needed information down from
Active directory automatically every time you login and places it in your squirrel
mail preferences and winbind authenticates against active directory to synchronize
the usernames/passwords between ADS and the Linux box.

as use the search function on the website and just search for postfix you'll come up with all kinds of stuff to do with mail servers.
