how do i change system volume?

Mandrake Linux 8.2 using KDE

i checked the control center and didn't see anything relating to volume, only settings for the device and interupts and stuff like that.

could you please tell me? when i click on songs it runs this program called noatun or something like that and i set the volume there thinking it would change system volume but when i ran Licq and got a message, it put this extremely loud "UH OH". there will be other programs to come along and i dont like getting shocked every time something plays a sound lol

System volume is controlled by your mixer.

In kde you have kmix
In Gnome you have gmix
In general you could have aumix

All 3 of these will work in any X invironment I have tried.

Cool
