How do I access Windows files on my HDD from Linux?

I have one computer with a dual boot (Red Hat 8 & XP) with two HDD's. One 40GB purely for XP, one 60GB with 40GB for Windows and 20GB for Linux.

How do I access/share files between the disks/partitions?

I've heard of Samba but only one Operating system runs at any one time so I don't see how this'll work. Is there another way or a way to get the files shared?

Thanks in advance.

You can mount a windows drive from within Linux. Try searching on this site as this is asked and answered almost on a daily basis.

Samba BTW is for sharing files across a network between *nix and Windows..

When you installed redhat you had the option to select your windows partition as a mount point. Now you will need to manually add it.

It can be done through KDE, unless RH has done something to KDE. Just right click and you will see the option.
