As this is a forum, and we do have discussions, most members here are here to help out others with usually specific
questions about Linux.
Yes, you can ask questions like you did in the first post, but that won't get many responses. Questions that are too wide like that one need to be more narrow. Most don't come here to lecture like a professor in College, they come for quick answers to their specific questions.
The question above is like asking how to build a car from scratch, which would take too much time to explain. A more suitable question would be after you searched on the subject and read about building cars would be, how do I install a head gasket on a 69 Camaro SS ??
So you can ask anything you want here on Linux, but questions that are more specific will get you answers. Questions like How do filesystems work will get you answers to go RTFM.
