To uninstall lilo just run:
/sbin/lilo -u /dev/hdaX
Make sure you use the right devicename.
Lilo saved a copy of the old boot record in /boot usually called something like boot.XXxx the number depends on the device. XX is the major number of the device and xx is the minor number of the device. You can manually restore it with dd but it's safer to use lilo to do the job.
After removing lilo you need to make sure bootmagic is pointing directly to your /boot partition.

when i /sbin/lilo -u /dev/hda2 ,It says fatal error.
Fatal:timestamp in boot sector differs from date of /boot/boot.0302.Try using the -U option if u know what u r doing .
How should i do then!
Good luck!
And could i install lilo in the MBR?

Well the boot.0302 file only gets created the first time. So if you run lilo several times after making changes then the timestamp won't match up anymore. You can use the -U instead of -u to force the uninstall without checking the timestamp.
You can install lilo in the MBR if you would rather use lilo instead of boot magic. Just change the line boot=/dev/hda in /etc/lilo.conf and rerun /sbin/lilo

Why not dump BootMagic and just use lilo/grub?
BTW, i read somewhere dos fdisk can clear the master boot record...
From a *caugh*windows*caugh* bootdisk type:
c:\
fdisk /MBR
It doesnt actually say that it did anything and its never actually fixed anything for me...

Fdisk /MBR won't really "fix" anything, it will just rewrite/restore the MBR to its glorious (*cough*), Windows-only state of being.

whepin, I'm a little confused. When you boot up, which boot loader is running?

From my experience, I've never been able to fix anything with the FDISK /MBR command. I tried using it after I screwed up the MBR on my second harddrive using GRUB and could no longer boot to Windows and apparently it wasn't very happy with me or anything that I had done to it.
