How can I make a custom CD Linux to use in a computer lab?
Going to college right now and I don't have my computer with me... That plus the fact that for my Work Study I have to be in the computer lab to access the appropriate resources and servers across our ghetto network... anyhow, I'm not really fond of Mac OS X... actually I hate all versions of MacOS... and all the compters in the lab are eMacs running OS X... Wondering if there is a way to configure a linux distro to see the network right, set up KDE how I like it then drop it onto a CD so I can just boot the eMac with that and not have to jack up the existing HD... Actually it'd have to not touch the HD at all... except maybe to store files temporarily...
but i'm not sure about getting it to run on mac hardware, though... maybe there's a ppc version already out there... i know there has to be live ppc distros out there but i don't know any... if i find one i'll post it... maybe knoppix works on ppc, or maybe they both do... i'm not sure.
Hmm... I'll prolly have to check out the gentoo forums and stuff first... Cuz I really need something that I know is gonna work... I can't mess up the comp I use it on... cuz it isn't mine... and I don't have a mac comp to test it on...
