how can i let windows to have the hdd of linux?
i have a 8gb hdd. and i have windows me installed on a partition of 4.and a linux mandrake 9 on the other 4. I want to delete the 4 gb partition of linux and let windows own that space. How can i do it without formatting my windows partition?

You can also use fdisk in Linux and give the partition a FAT32 or FAT16 ID, which will allow it to show in Windows, although it will need to actually be reformatted from Windows to be usable.
Good luck with Windows. You'll need it.

Yes, but then you can look into ranish partition manager to "absorb" that free space back into your win "C" drive if you are so inclined. Also look at man mkdosfs
