What distribution are you using?

Red hat 9.0

I don't know that much about Red Hat 9.0 except that it's an old distro.
Do either of these pages help? http://www.resc.rdg.ac.uk/twiki/bin/...lop_and_rebase http://www.geekhaven.net/forums/view...t=360&start=15 Have you thought of trying another distro? Maybe Ubuntu or Mepis? You should always have Gnome or KDE already installed unless you're using some build-from-the-ground-up distro like Slackware, Debian, Gentoo, or Linux from Scratch. |
I am not sure you will be able to install any of the latest KDE or GNOMe versions on REdhat 9 because of dependency issues. Redhat 9 is an old distro and support as well as updates have been discontinued by Redhat. Take a look at this page.
